Wind Ensemble & Private Lessons
Northwest Winds LLC is a music education business serving the Oriole Park neighborhood of Chicago, providing engaging wind ensemble instruction as well as private clarinet and saxophone lessons for elementary and middle school students.
Focused on building strong musical foundations in a supportive and encouraging environment, Northwest Winds LLC helps young musicians develop technical skills, musical confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Through personalized instruction and collaborative ensemble experiences, students have opportunities to improve their performance abilities, strengthen discipline and teamwork, and enjoy the rewarding experience of making music with others.

Our services
Private Clarinet & Saxophone Lessons
Private clarinet and saxophone lessons are available for students of all ages and experience levels. Each 30-minute lesson is individually tailored to meet the student's unique goals, learning style, and skill level, whether they are just beginning their musical journey, preparing for school band performances, or working toward advanced repertoire and examinations. Lessons focus on developing strong technique, tone production, music reading, and overall musicianship in a supportive and engaging environment. Flexible afternoon and evening lesson times are available to accommodate busy school and family schedules.
Instrumental Music Program
Our Instrumental Music Program provides students with the opportunity to develop their musical skills through focused instrument instruction, ensemble participation, and sectional rehearsals throughout the school year.
Instrument Lessons (September – November)
Students attend weekly 30-minute instrument-specific sessions before school from 7:20 a.m. to 7:50 a.m.:
Monday: Trumpet
Tuesday: Trombone
Wednesday: Clarinet & Saxophone
Thursday: Flute
Friday: Percussion
These small-group lessons focus on developing fundamental playing techniques, music literacy, and individual performance skills.
Ensemble and Sectional Rehearsals (Beginning December)
Starting in December, instrument lessons transition to ensemble and sectional rehearsals as students begin preparing for upcoming performances. These rehearsals take place during the same scheduled times as the instrument lessons.
Ensemble Rehearsals
Held on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Begin approximately one month before the first concert and continue throughout the remainder of the school year
Focus on full-group performance, musical interpretation, and concert preparation
Sectional Rehearsals
Brass: Monday
Woodwinds: Wednesday
Percussion: Friday
Sectional rehearsals provide focused instruction within each instrument family, allowing students to strengthen technique, improve ensemble skills, and work on repertoire in greater detail.
By progressing from instrument-specific instruction to ensemble and sectional rehearsals, students build a strong musical foundation and gain valuable performance experience throughout the year.
This version makes the timeline and replacement of lessons by rehearsals much more explicit for parents and students.
